I'm on antibiotics for 7 days, flagyl at 400mg.
And its already starting to ease the pain.. I hope

I'm wondering does this mean my tooth could be saved without extraction if it heals it?

I’m not a dentist, but I think antibiotics will just buy you a bit of time rather than cure the problem altogether. When I had them from the dentist previously it has been as a pre-cursor to a root canal when there was going to be a bit of a wait for the treatment. I might be wrong, though!

As Judythecat said, the antibiotics won't cure the tooth, but it might be possible to save the tooth with root canal treatment?
