Cyst removal

Hi all, just looking for some reassurance more than anything.
Google has sent me into a panic (why dont I ever learn!)
Tomorrow i have a dental hospital appointment to review a cyst in my upper jaw. I had a chronic infection in my left incisor.
The tooth was removed 2 weeks ago, it has been draining ever since, draining has slowed down a lot over the last few days.
So, about the cyst, ive read that having the cyst removed/cleaned out it horrendously painful to heal from.
Well, actually, a lot of what ive read said its about as bad as an extraction but one person said it was worse than childbirth and now im terrified. To the point of considering cancelling the appointment
Has anybody had this done? How was recovery? Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

Hello traumaanxiety, I didn't see this until now the day of your appt. How did it go?

I can say Google is hard, my angel dentist would say "Dr Google can't see your mouth and doesn't know your history and situation". That made ALOT of sense. Certainly it can be helpful but it can also create anxiety. Great job coming on here to try to get information , sorry you didn't get an answer, I'm curious though how it went and how you are doing today?

Thank you for checking in! I went to my appointmet, shaking and sick with worry, but I went nonetheless! And she examined the area and took another xray and said it seems to be healing by itself. Its still there and still big but she is confident its going to heal with time. She referred me back to my dentist and advised to xray in about a year to see if its doing as she expects it will.
I was so relieved. And proud actually. For being as scared as I was but still going.
Also, she thought I still had my real teeth in, when she found out it was a plate she was so shocked and said it was a really well fitting plate and wasn't noticeable at all, which was a lovely confidence boost lol

All in all was a great appointment and another step in healing my dental anxiety

Wow! What a great report! It's like positive momentum for the next time, I love that each time building it up a positive experience.. What a relief just watch!!! and really you feeling the anxiety but going through it and to the other side !! That is super awesome about your plate and it being so well fitting she didn't notice at first! What a great appointment!
