Dental appointment

I not been to the dentist in many years but I had a accident and lost my teeth I not sure if it's possible to get treatment as my gums have reduced and they hurt when I brush them have I waited to long to seek treatment it's many years since I last went cost and fear are the main barrier any support would be appreciated

Thank you for sharing your story, sorry you had to go through an accident that left you losing your teeth! We are glad you are here, and you are wanting to help yourself and your dental situation. I really hate that $$ is such a factor too., it's so hard when its like a brick wall in front of what you desire and need. I Don't know your total situation but it might be worth going for a consult for implants, many places offer the free consults with the 3d scans that can tell if your bone is in good shape for implants.. I had no teeth in areas of my mouth over 20 years and they were able to put implants there that long later!! So it really never hurts to see. it could be yes or no . I was also blessed to find a dentist that worked with me on the financial part which was a miracle. You just never know till you try. And going to consults too can give you a good idea of the dentists demeanor and attitude and general clinic atmosphere.

Hi @Teddypicker, I see you're in Swindon - do you have a GP? If so, maybe you could ask them for a referral to the community dental service. Many of them offer services to people with special needs, including dental phobia. There's some more info on this page:

Hello I lost all my teeth after been beating up can I get temporary denture before the process of permanent denture is implanted denture really expensive

Hi. Is a visible front tooth? If not, there is no rush in adding another tooth yet. The best order of things is first fix th other teeth, meaning cleaning the mouth from bacteria with teeth cleaning, fillings, maybe other treatments, and only when the mouth is clean from bacteria, add more teeth.
This might sound too hard to do, but for the long term it is the best path.

@krlovesherkids777 how much did the implants cost does any insurance cover implants I happy to book to see if I have any bone left I just worried about the cost does the dentist accept payment plans

@Dr. Daniel all my teeth were hanging out so I had an emergency appointment to pull them out they could not save them I am looking at temporary denture or implants

Teddypicker, My situation was a bit of a miracle. I was at wits end and scared because my Dr just told me I had osteoporosis and wanted to get me on medications. I knew as an old dentist told me It was bad for dental work, biphosphinates.. my dentist at the time, had compassion on me and said I will do everything you need, just pay me what you can when you can. and he started the work multiple implants and bone graphs sinus lifts, extractions. it really would have been over 40,000 had I completed everything. I had to move because of Covid hitting so just paid off what he did. But it literally was a miracle. I couldn't have done it without a very special dentist. I did NOT have good credit at the time
