Dental Hygienist & Pain

I am due an hygienist appointment at the begining of July. I have been putting it off, as my teeth are very sensitive and I find it very very painful.
Also when I am laying down with my mouth open, I feel as if I am going to choke due to postnasal drip.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
 
Hi Freesia, have you discussed this with your hygienist before (both the sensitivity and the feeling of choking)? If not, it would be really good idea to sit down with them to discuss what can be done to make you more comfortable.

For example, you can get numbed for the cleaning, if that would help?
