My situation is that I may have to get implants and one of the dentists I am considering only uses
"Southern Implants". I am just wondering if these are recognised as being good implants or would
I be safer going with one of the bigger name implants?

My second question is are implants difficult to place in teeth positions 8 and 10 (front upper).
I was told sometime ago that position 8 was difficult, that is why I ask the question.

I can't comment on the quality of the implant since the oral surgeons I work with place different brands. As for the level of difficulty, it depends on how experienced the practitioner is. It's more challenging in the esthetic area (8 and 10) because if the implant isn't placed right and the tissue isn't managed properly it may cause the final restoration to look odd.

There are numerous brands of implants. Not many doctors use Southern Implants but that doesn't mean they are bad it's just that they have a rather small market share. Therefore, if you go elsewhere, the odds that your doctor is familiar with the system are low.

8 is your central incisor. It is no harder to place the implant than any other position. The problem is that it is much harder to get it to look nice.
