Dental treatment

Hello, I went to the dentist 4 days ago.

I have visible cavities however my gum score numbers were all 0's.

My dentist said to come back in 6 months for another check up.

I'm just a bit confused by this as I know I have cavities, does this mean they aren't getting any worse or could there be another reason for this?

I am currently under cardiology for my heart racing if that makes any difference.
