ever get shaky while doing a procedure? I noticed yesterday while having my teeth extracted that my dr was shaking. Granted, this is possible because besides all the meds I got before the extractions, I still had to have 4 or 5 or so shots. There were a few teeth I didn't know if he'd get out....and I think he was getting a little worried about it too. At one time he said that he didn't know if they would all come out at that time because he gave me all the medication I could have. He was also surprised that I walked out of the office without any problem. Just wondering if that was normal? Thanks.

I think I used to make my dentist quite nervous. I remember early on with me she would drop stuff a lot and struggled a bit with awkward dexterity. One time she actually slipped with a pointy something and scratched my chin . She felt so bad but i didn't hold it against her because accidents happen. That has improved 110% over the years and she seems much more confident with me now that I have had a lot of treatment with her (and I'm calmer). We have not had any issues in years.

Definitely after working hard on a difficult extraction I get a short term tremor. You wouldn't really notice it normally but dentistry is such precision work that it tends to magnify things.
I know a top oral surgeon who has a marked tremor until he starts working then he's as steady as a rock - he has what's called a benign tremor and doesnt compromise his work at all.

Not a doctor but I'm a nurse. Used to be shaky putting in IVs but with practice I stopped shaking. Maybe your dentist was new to the field and nervous.

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping that some of you also got a little shakey sometimes. He's been a dentist quite a few years, so I'm hoping that it was just because of the trouble getting some of the teeth out. That makes me feel better.

My office did a free dental day for the community this past weekend. After extraction #35 my hand started to involuntarily cramp up. So I would say yes
