Hi Gordon, I wondered if I could ask some further advice after a miserable few days. I had two separate fillings done a few weeks apart, on two molars next to each other. The most recent 2 weeks ago. One has a temporary filling in, the other composite. My bite after the anaesthetic wore off was fine. Then my bite started being too high on that side, and it fluctuates throughout the day, but on all the molars and my premolar, not just one tooth. It's like my teeth are moving up and down on that side. If I press my teeth together they start to go back in. There isn't pain.
I went for an emergency appt a few days ago, and the dentist adjusted my bite on the temporary filling (articulation paper showed no issue however) which brought my teeth together more evenly with the other side of my mouth, but the bite didn't feel right on the tooth after it was shaved, but he didn't want to shave any more off. Since then it feels like the bite is off with all my teeth, alongside my teeth continuing to move up and down, so it was a waste of time.
Tapping on the tooth there was no pain.
My bite before this moving up and down thing was perfect, so I don't want any more of my teeth being shaved, as then what happens when this inflammation thing settles - presumably my bite will be too low..?
I'm super stressed. Taking ibuprofen brings my teeth back together evenly with the other side, like they slot back in to place - until it wears off, which is why I believe there to be inflammation.
Do you know how long this could last for? I'm terrified of damage from the pressure.
