I just wanted to make this post (my first post here) to say thank you to you all. Since Friday I have been in a nightmare as my dentist told me I needed 2 teeth out. It was a total shock as I go for 4-6 monthly visits, had no symptoms and my mouth always looks really clean.

Anyway, I got a second opinion and today I had one of the teeth filled and the other extracted. I had to have IV sedation as the premolar that was to be extracted had long roots and was near the sinus cavity so the dentist thought it might take an hour to remove. All went well and I am now back home.

For the past few days I have read every success story in here and pretty much every page of the main forum looking for helpful stories of extractions, and I must say it has really helped give me the courage to go ahead today and get this sorted.

So a big thank you to all of you! And I hope this story will helps someone else later on down the line.

Hi there,

I have to say "well done you".

Extractions are my biggest fear. It feels like too big of a loss to me. I have a secondary upper premolar that has just been root canal treated and I worry constantly about Losing it. Will you replace the tooth?

I think your post not only made me think more positively but it also shocked me. It throws me when I hear of people losing teeth that were perfectly fine a few months prior. How do you cope with the news.

I know teeth aren't the end of the world but they come pretty close as a dental phobic.

I'm glad you had a good experience and manage to remain so positive. I hope you're positivity is catching.

Best wishes
