i am due to go to the hospital for two teeth being taken out , under iv sedation on the 7th march and im absolutely terrified! i am petrified that even though i probably wont remember it , that at the actual time it will be painful / traumatic , does that make sense?
i was originally going to have a GA , thats what i actually got referred for, but when i went to my appointment at the hospital i asked if they could do the sedation, as GA scares me, dont ask why! they said yes , but didnt give me alot of info about what will happen. i know bits about the sedation, having had it before for a medical procedure , and remember nothing of it, but dont know if this will be the same?
any advice would be majorly appreciated, i keep avoiding answering the phone when the hospital are ringing me to confirm my appointment , i am so tempted to not go :(

Hello Hun.. :)

You Will Be Fine With Iv Sedation.. I Had A Tooth Removed Under It 3 Weeks Ago Nearly & It Couldn't Of Gone Better.. :D A Little Needle In The Hand Which I Didnt Even Feel.. ( Major Needle Phobia ) & I Was Out Within 10 Seconds Of The Drugs Being Put In..!! I Too Was Terrified Of This Procedure But It Was Great.. Would Advise Anyone Who Is Scared Of Dental Procedures To Have It Done This Way.. Its Great.. :D :D
Don't Cancel Your Appointment.. You Will Do Fine & I'm Sure You Will Be Posting Your Experience In The 'Success Stories' After.. A Little Advice.. Make Sure You Follow Aftercare Instructions..!! That Way The Whole Experience Will Be Fantastic.. :D

ahh, your post is exactly the kinda thing i needed to hear! did you have it done at hospital or your dentist? do you remember anything of it ? the time i was sedated for something else,i literally remember nothing, one minute was having a needle in my arm, the nxt i was waking up in a bed. just sooo hopin that this will be the same . have never ever had any kind of dental procedure done before so im majorly scared!!!
im so wary, as the hospital appointment really wasnt informative about whats going on.
i might ring the hospital tomorrow though actually ,and ask that before i have it done, is there any way i can have another consultation appointment just to settle my mind a bit about the whole thing.
or would they be annoyed with me for that? wish i could afford to go private for this so i wouldnt feel so much like im wasting their time :(
xx

Hello Hun..

I Got Mine Done At A Dental Anaesthetic Centre Which I Was Refered To Bu My Dentist.. I Didn't Remember A Thing.. I Was Crying In The Room When They Put The Needle In But Within 10 Seconds I Was Out.. ( How I Wanted It To Be ) :D
& I'm Sure They Wouldn't Mind You Ringing Them Up To Put Your Mind At Rest.. I Rang Up Where I Was Going About 4 Times To Ask About The Procedure & They Were Very Informative..!!

I Found Most My Info On Here In The Success Stories As There Is So Many Of Them.. They Put My Mind At Rest.. I'm Sure You Will Be Fine Hun.. Good Luck But You Probably Won't Need It..!!
