Hi There,

So on last Thursday I got my #18 molar extracted with plans for an implant that I'm excited for. The healing has been coming along really well for that. The supplied photo is of my right side between #31 and #30. #31 is set to get a replacement crown so ignore that, but I'm not sure what this random red spot that appeared is and it is extremely painful. The extraction pain is almost zero compared to this.

It's also annoying because this is the only side I'm, able to chew on at the moment, and even soft foods hurt to chew. I have an appointment scheduled on Wednesday to begin addressing the crown, but is this something that I should get looked at sooner than that? Also any idea what I should be bracing myself for with this?

Thank you so much!

Looks like you've got some food pieces rammed into the gum between the 2 molars, which has set up an acute infection. See if you can get looked at before Wednesday, it needs physically cleaned out plus probably some antibiotics.
