My body does not seem to like root canals. My bottom molar was done last September and felt great but recently hurts to tap or bite. This is a recent image of the tooth. I added the yellow arrow. Anything jump out here?

Nope, there's nothing obviously wrong there. You really need better images though, those aren't good enough to diagnose anything that isn't a gross issue.

Thank you Dr. Gordon. I will try and get a more clear x-ray at my dentist. Thank you for taking the time to respond. If this page takes donations I want to give. You have always been so generous with your time.

I don't run this site, you need to speak to the wonderful Let's Connect about donations.

Hi, we don’t take any donations... but if you happen to know anyone at Google Search, please put a good word in for us ? (<- only half joking there).

Totally agree about Gordon (and our other volunteers) doing a wonderful job ?

I just want you all to know how appreciated you are. I know myself and probably hundreds of others have come here in desperation and fear with nowhere else to turn. What you offer is invaluable! Thank you most sincerely!

This is just my way of giving something back, dentistry has been extremely good to me over the years, as a poor kid from a very rough part of Glasgow, I've had a fantastic career and am very grateful for the opportunities this profession has given me.

Hi Gordon I am a very anxious patient from Glasgow do you have a practice I could come to?

Sorry but I'm retired now. I wasn't in general practice anyway...

I can highly recommend Mike Gow at the Berkeley Clinic, just off Sauchiehall Street at Charing X, but as a general guide have a read at this:

Thanks for the reply. I see your replies to a lot of posts on here and I’m slowly building the confidence to attend nhs dentist appointment on 28/04 but am beginning to wonder if I am best gping private or wonder if this is just the nerves kicking in. I lost a fair few molars when I was younger with an nhs dentist, I’m 36 now and am worried I am going to lose what molars I have left if I go back to the dentist. My front teeth have always hidden the problem but now some of these have slight decay and I have decided I need to act on my fear before it gets too late for them too. I have an extreme fear of extractions due to a difficult wisdom tooth extraction many years ago. I then returned a year or two after this for two fillings and an emergency appointment for another extraction which resulted in me needing a glucose drink and having a sort of reaction/panic attack and haven’t been back since the tooth in question eventually came out on its own through time. Sorry for the rambling and thanks again for the advice.

Just wanted to add, we’ve got an interview with Mike Gow here:

By all accounts, he’s not just good with fearful patients, but technically very skilled as well.
