filling still sensitive after month

I had four fillings done about a month ago and the only one that has been hurting is one of my bottom molars. It was not sensitive the first few weeks but now all the sudden this week it has been very sensitive to hot and cold and even now when im not drinking anything is still throbbing... is that normal?? Im supposed to have an appoitment monday at my dentist..it terrifies me to think that I might need a root canal :/

How did it go? Root canals do not have to be an ordeal (except financially) especially if you see an endodontist.
