Hi,
I am new here *waves*, hope everyone has had a good Christmas.
Anyway as the thread title says . . I have a fine fine FINE piece of dental floss stuck between my teeth; lower L, teeth 5 and 6! I was flossing as normal last week Sunday and the floss shredded. I began to panic so went over it, thinking this would remove the shredded piece but to my horror for the piece to actually not come out. I have tried everything possible; toothpick, oil pulling, warm salt water, thinner dental floss, putting a knot in the floss, interdental brush, chewing gum but nothing is moving it! As a result, my teeth are hurting, they're on 'edge', the pressure is now becoming unbearable and I've had odd sharp pains in the gum today. Because I am poking and prodding it, the gum area is now slightly red, and I don't really to keep poking it and cause / create an infection for myself.
I am feeling incredibly miserable because I can't enjoy my food properly, and I just want my teeth to go back to 'normal'. I have been to the dentist, and he can't see it (which I didn't think he would because when I say fine, I mean FINE . .it's not visible to the naked eye). Friends I have spoken to have suggested things I've already tried, but I am running out of ideas. The floss kind of feels like it's stuck in the soft tissue / gum area, but I cannot see it to remove it.
So does anyone else have any suggestions?? Help . . (I have attached a picture of my teeth, and circled the teeth I am referring to).
