Flexible Dentures.

I want to renew my upper partial denture and I also would like to have a partial denture made for my lower jaw with three back molars on each side. I have heard about Flexible dentures and wonder if they are superior to the rigid type. How hard wearing are they and what about cleaning? Do they grip well? At the moment I have a chrome cobalt upper, partial denture with three back molars on each side, but, because I have no lower molars I find chewing unsatisfactory. Can anyone advise?

My patients either love them or hate them! The ratio of lovers to haters is about 90:10...Some people just don't get on with the feeling of movement when they chew with them I think.

Cleaning is best done with the small ultrasonics that are usually sold by the labs with Valplast flexible dentures. They are very hard wearing, Valplast has a lifetime guarantee I think.
Retention is superior to cobalt chromes and the appearance is much better.

Gordon. Many thanks for the info re flexible dentures. I think I will get them as, if ninty percent love them, that's good enough for me.
