my daughter has been to the orthodontist and she has recommended the removal of a central left incisor. when i questioned this she said her buckle segment was perfectly aligined so is she did not have the front tooth removed it would be 4 other teeth. dont know what a buckle segment is and if this the correct treatment - in a real dilema !!!

Buccal segment, it's dentist jargon for the teeth at the back on the cheek side.

Presumably the orthodontist thinks that removing this tooth will allow the treatment to be completed faster and with less chance of complications than any of the alternatives. If you don't understand what they're proposing then go back and ask them again.
