What is the best way to prevent post-operative nausea and vomiting from dental surgery done with general anesthesia.

I have severe emetophobia so "there's a chance" you could vomit isn't good enough. I need something that will bring the chance down to almost a zero.

Any suggestions?

They gave me an Rx called Vistaril with the pain meds--supposed to cut down nausea and vomiting...it works pretty good...good thing...I haven't puked in over 25 years.....and have had several major surgeries...Must be mind over matter---I hate to vomit!!!!!

Thanks k-bird, I did some research and Zofran seems to be a "miracle drug" when it comes to nausea and vomiting.

Not familiar with Vistaril but I'll look into that too.

Zofran is the drug of choice and should be given IV during surgery and can also be taken under your tongue (sublingual) after.
