Hey everyone, just a quick question. I had a 1st molar (bottom) extracted 8 days ago. My first tooth ever extracted. I have a few stitches but everything went well. Saw blood clot, no dry socket. Stitches are dissolvable but haven’t fallen out/absorbed (seem to be thinning out a little so maybe soon)
My question is about granulation tissue. I know it’s a good thing. But is it supposed to move? Like… if I take a pinkie finger to that “whitish clump” it moves and I can actually take pieces off the edges and it would just come off. I have left it, of course. But I didn’t know if it was supposed to be moving all over. It seems to be stuck to my stitches and if my stitches fell out I think that white clump would too.
It almost reminds me of a pile of plaque but can’t be since there’s no tooth. I don’t believe at all that it’s food as I eat on other side and do salt rinses after I eat. And it’s only in that spot.
Does that sound like granulation tissue? I have no pain. Just tender a bit. I guess I assumed it would be “stuck down” in the hole and not be creamy and move. What does this sound like?
