Had a filling done without numbing ?

Hey! I had a badly cracked tooth fixed today , before getting it fixed the nerves were exposed and I was in quite a lot of pain for the past few months. The last time I had a tooth fixed my dentist numbed me up completely but not this time ? I kept waiting for him to numb me but he never did, he then did the filling, it really hurt like screaming level since he had to press it in. I’m just wondering is this normal ? He never even asked if I wanted to be numbed or not.

Thats not normal. Im very sorry youve had this experience, and if possible id try and forget it as quickly as possible as definitely not normal.

I'd be making a formal complaint to the practice to be honest, fair enough if you had requested not to have local but not even giving you the choice is a bit out of order.
