Have an appointment Next Tuesday & terrified

New and need advice. I haven't been to the dentist in over 3 years. I go to get x-rays and then never go back. I have a bad gag problem but my teeth need some major work. I'm scared. I also have a problem with my gums. I wihs I could take my teeth out and send them to the dentist. I hate the sound of the drill and burning teeth. what can I do?
