Help can I get this tooth fixed?

I have a wisdom tooth that’s almost half gone. There is some pain . I went to dentist and he only saw me for a minute and said he recommends extraction. I want a second opinion. Can I get a root canal ? Is it possible? I can send u a picture of the tooth. And the X-rays. I want to save the tooth..

Go to a different dentist for a second opinion, you can't really diagnose these things via the internet.
