Hi everyone, I am looking for some advice. I am having to have 4 back teeth removed and then a partial denture. I am so upset over this and feeling so nervous at the work being done. I have made a list of questions to ask at my next appointment in two weeks for some small fillings. I am not sure when the extraction will be as I have been referred.

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this work?

I look forward to hearing from you.

I had 14 extractions at one time and an immediate dentures. I know it’s not the same but what questions do you have?

Thanks for replying. What was your experience like? How was it having multiple extractions at once? How long did it take to heal. I am petrified about the extractions to be honest.

I have an appointment booked now Wednesday 29th April at 8.30am for some extractions.

@QueenBee absolutely no pain during the procedure. Had Valium prior to going in and again when I got there. Also had numerous injections, probably 15 including in the palate. I was so do anxious about the injections but I didn’t feel a thing. Kept my eyes closed so I didn’t see what was coming. Also played music on my phone with ear plugs. It was less than an hour from walking in to getting back home. Healing was not bad. Be sure to follow directions for pain meds. I even set an alarm to take them during the night just to stay ahead of the pain. I was good after 2 days. Let me know how things go.

Went for today's appointment I was a wreck. The dentist has decided that I should rebook and be sedated. I built myself up for todays appointment. I feel a real mix of emotions right now.

@QueenBee well done for making it to your appointment yesterday - that alone must have taken a huge amount of courage 🤗! How do you get on with your dentist and how do you feel about what they proposed? You've done amazing by just showing up - well done!!

Thank you for your kind words. I felt really up and down emotionally yesterday. I am nervous about going to my next appointment. But hopefully being sedated will help.

I'm sure it will 👍! Do you know what sort of sedation?

How long after you got your partial could you eat, and talk properly again, I've had my top and bottom a month now and I hate it, just hate it, can't talk to the patients properly and hardly eaten in weeks, I'm so scared to go back, I know I probably need to get them adjusted, but before I left last time, he said 2 more have to come out, last time no warning no Valium no nitrous nothing, I'm down to 16 teeth now, and when I take the top ones out there's just this gaping big hole, have felt so ugly, and down since this happened, I truly know there are worst things it could be, but I'm in a non supporting relationship and this is not helping .
Thank you to anyone who replies

Any replies would be greatly appreciated, thank you
