Implant impressions

Hi everyone,
I have an appt tomorrow to have my implant healing posts taken out and he is going to put the posts in and then take impressions on the top and bottom. It has been a yr or so since my bottom implants healing posts have been in. I saw him a few weeks ago and he tested their strength by torquing the implant(that felt awesome) and he said skin had grown under and he had to squish it out from under the healing post part.
I am wondering if anyone has had the healing posts removed to have the other posts put in to take impressions?? He slotted me for an hr appt but I'm really hoping it won't take that long!!!
I asked my oral surgeon who placed the implants if he would give me a valium since I have horrible anxiety and he said impressions are no big deal and I shouldn't freak out(easier said than done) I have half of a valium left that I think I will take to hopefully take the initial edge off.... Just looking for some experiences if it feels weird or hurts having the different pieces unscrewed and screwed back in.

It wasn't a big deal for me and it took about an hour. They had to laser some of the gum that had grown around the healing caps which took about 5 minutes. All in all- not too bad. The worst is behind you now. Good luck with your appointment. It will be over before you know it.

I hope so!!! lol At my last appt he just loosened the healing post and then tightened it way down(he said they tend to loosen up with time if nothing is done with them) and squished the skin out. It was not comfortable and hurt/discomfort for a few hrs after but nothing past then. Hoping this time it doesn't hurt. My big issue with impressions is the suction and pulling when they take them out. What took an hr to do??? It doesn't seem like it would take that long to unscrew 4 screws and screw something in and take impressions and swap them out again, unless he is just planning that in case it does take that long for some reason.
