Iv sedation- please help

Will I be paralysed during the procedure? What's it feels like?

I'm confused between YOU'RE conscious but unconscious or twilight sleep.

You will be able to move. You will be awake and able to respond to the dentist and staff. However, you should be very relaxed and most people don't remember any of what happened.

Hi.

I've had IV sedation before. I had it once when I had 8 extractions at once. There was no way I was going to be awake for that. I had all 4 wisdom teeth out (2 of which were impacted) and 4 other teeth extracted because my mouth was over crowded. This was part of my braces treatment and preparation for a corrective double jaw surgery.

IV sedation was fine for me. The worst part is before they start, just the anxiety of the procedure and waiting to be put under. I'd do it again if I could afford it.

I just had iv sedation yesterday. I was so terrified beforehand. I didn't want to feel loopy/drunk, and I was worried I'd still be aware of what was happening or that something would 'wake me up'. . .

Nothing like that. the Dr put the iv in, and then the assistant put an oxygen mask on me, and that's the last I remember.

When I came out of it, I wasn't 'hungover' or loopy. The assistant made me get in a wheelchair, but I could've walked.

The anxiety I had was the worst I've had in a long time, but the iv sedation was the easiest part of any dental appointment I've ever had. I would definitely do it again.
