Hello, I have posted in the past about my fear of Novocain/lidocaine shots. Unfortunately, I have read stories about people feeling absolutely jittery, shaky, heart racing, and feeling bad after receiving the shots for a procedure. So, I have to get 5 extractions, 4 premolars and one decayed wisdom tooth for braces. I cannot afford sedation since my insurance doesn’t cover it, so I have to go the only Novocain/lidocaine route. In the past, I don’t think I’ve had a reaction, but due to mental health issues and being a hypochondriac, I really struggle when it comes to things being injected.. it started from a negative experience from an antibiotic from a different health issue. So my question is, is it possible to have a reaction to it? Can a dentist do something to prevent it? I’m not scared of getting my teeth pulled, I just fear of any reactions of medicines. Any reassurance is helpful, as I am really mustering up the courage to have my dream smile this year.
