little white spot ... cyst?

Hi there, I'm obviously really frightened about my oncoming dental appointment (as I haven't been in some 8 years) and as most people who are phobic (or even border on it) I tend to unintentionally think the worst. Anyways, I noticed a tiny white spot (doesn't hurt, isn't hard, isn't reacting in any way really) in the back of my mouth where my wisdom teeth should come in. I know it isn't my tooth for a number of reasons so I'm wondering, could it be a cyst or perhaps something even more threatening? I read on this site --> [broken link removed] that a cyst near a wisdom tooth that wasn't able to grow normally or come up through the gums may be a sign of possible ongoing bone deterioration that has been happening without your knowledge. Could this be the case? If not, what could the spot possibly be otherwise?

There's a fair amount of out of date information on that page. I wouldn't take any of it very seriously.

The white spot could be lots of things, except a cyst
Most likely is a small area of scar-like tissue caused by repeated trauma, possibly from an upper wisdom tooth that's came out its socket a bit too far because the lower isn't there yet, or possibly just from general chewing trauma.
