Hi there,

I have recently had all 4 of my 2nd premolars (5's) removed in preparation for a fixed brace. I had 2 done last Wednesday, both of which have healed perfectly however yesterday I had a further 2 removed on the right hand side, My lower appears to be quite dry (VERY small clot) and I'm curious to know if this is normal or anything to be alarmed about? I'm keeping it clean like my dentist has advised, and from what I have read it is too early to be dry socket.

That's pretty much it (Apologies if this is a bit of a silly question >.< But I'd rather be safe than sorry) and I'd appreciate any advice you guys have, thanks.

Hello nobody got back to you? all I can say is that I know dry socket is very painful from what people on here say. Keep up your gentle oral care, Well Done, but if you get really worried speak to your dentist.
All the best

Hi, Thanks for the reply

I'm currently not in any pain, so I don't think it's quite Dry Socket, and I'm hoping it heals up however It isn't showing any signs so far - If it doesn't start to heal up in the next few days I'll contact my dentist about it :)

Thanks for the help DJ and if anyone else has anything to help me, I would greatly appreciate it

thanks

I am not a dentist but it doesn't sound like you have dry socket, all sounds normal. You would know if you had dry socket because it is very painful and would keep you awake at night too. You are usually safe from dry socket after 72 hours from the time of extraction.

There are no silly questions, do don't worry about that. I think you are doing fine, try not to worry but if things change or you are worried then do contact your dentist.

All the best to you :butterfly::butterfly::butterfly:
