Hi,
I have had problems with my teeth in the past because I like sweets and I'm lazy at taking care of them. I also have to mention that I have the worst fear of dentists cause when I had my upper molar removed, the dentist didn't even wait for the anesthesia to set in!!! She removed my molar with no anesthesia basically!
But back to the point... I have lost the 1st left mandibular molar while eating fish. The whole thing just came off! I didnt' feel a thing but the roots are still in. Similar story with my 1st right upper molar. I had it removed when I was 11-12 (cause the dentist was too lazy to put a filling on) and it grew back! And after a few years it just fell off like the other one and only the roots are left inside. I don't feel any pain or anything, but I'm worried about getting any infections or even damaging my facial bone and mandible. Other than that my dentist says I have great teeth and that these 2 are isolated events.
I've been researching a lot about General Anesthesia cause of my huge fear of dentists and feel more comfortable if someone could walk me through the procedure. My normal dentist said that she can't do it and that I need a surgeon
because they will need to cut my gum open. What does that mean exactly? Could someone explain the procedure to me and maybe advise me please?
