Hi everyone
I currently have an infection presenting as a gum boil in a tooth that has previously had RCT and am awaiting treatment. Although I'm aware of the consequences of antibiotic misuse, I do feel that I'd benefit from a course just to keep the infection in check. I have practically begged my dentist for abx and she refuses. She also refused to prescribe abx on a prophylactic basis prior to the root canal. My doctor will prescribe if I ask but I don't like my care to be fragmented and would prefer if the dentist would prescribe instead. Should I change dentists?
Also does anyone know of any tips/tricks to keep the infection in check naturally? I've heard that garlic is naturally anti-bacterial but as much as I love garlic chewing it raw/having it in your mouth is pretty disgusting. Does anyone know of any (preferably more palatable) ways to keep the infection in check? Thank you
