Neck pain/headache

Hi

Ive had this neck/shoulder pain for a while aswell as dull headaches (the type of pain or ache you feel when youve been sleeping wrong) I went to the dentist because i thought it may be my wisdom tooth but dentist said it seemed fine. theres another tooth i had root treatment on lately close to my wisdom tooth n neck pain and it has been a bit sensitive. i think it might be infected. is it normal for a tooth to give you neck/ head pain?

I'm not sure if teeth can do that but I know tmj can, do you clench or grind your teeth?

Hi there,

I suffer from migraines but I can tell you it gets worse, the pain in my neck and head when I have tooth ache and also when I grind my teeth which I do when I am worried!

That can give you the feeling like you have slept wrong as well.

Just make sure it is not something else all together casuing your headaches, if you take any medications you can suffer from rebound headaches caused from the medication.

Another is hormone/testosterne levels, that can also cause headaches and also hyperinsulinaemia, when you have insulin resistance and that causes your sugar to spike causing the same kind of feelings.

Try anti inflamitaries, they work wonders for headaches and for tooth pain!!!

Thanks guys, i heard of TMJ but not too sure what it is. I think i do clench my teeth alot, ive been told to take diclofenac by my doctor it works well but if i stop taking them for a day then dull neck pain and headaches return. Its a cross feeling between sleeping the wrong way and having a hangover. its not absolute agony but it is irritating and distracting especially when im at work. the pain initially started at my jaw just behind my wisdom teeth and has made its way around my neck i thought it may have been my wisdom tooth but the dentist seems to think theyre fine. I know im goin off topic in terms of dental but what are the symptoms of tmj? is it dental related?

Doclofanec is an anti inflammitary, it will do many things at one, it makes your blood vessels open up in your head and helps with head aches. It causes your nerves to "calm" down in your teeth taking that pain away, it also helps your muscles relax which also causes a dull headache, you should go see a neurologist as well. When I have ear ache I also take it because it help with the pain which also goes down my jaw if left, It is a miracle drug if you ask me but you have to narrow down the symptoms to see if it is your teeth.
