Nervous and unsure.

I went to the dentist for the first time in a few years, I've never really had dental exams ....after a bad experience with dentist.

When I went last June, she completely freaked out and sent me to the periodontist who told me I was going to lose all my teeth in a very short space of time. I sobbed for months and became completely addicted to brushing and the rabbit hole that is google.

When I went back. He basically told me all u was fine...seems begrudging and said I have no issues keeping my teeth for 20 to 30 years easily and almost seemed humoured by me.

I recently had an xray elsewhere as he told me 0 to 75 percent bone loss but would not say where etc. The dentist gave me numerous options but im scared. Please advise how my teeth are and what I should do . I also have an overbite and wonder should I get braces?

I developed strong marionette lines after periontal cleaning. Is that related to the gum disease or simply age ? 39. F

I am pretty sure my bite moved further back my mouth also, should I extract or split the L11?

I can't really give you any advice without examining you. Who gave you the options? The periodontist or a new general dentist? What options were they?

Hi Gordon. Thanks for the reply. The periodontist told me first that my teeth were doomed. I had 2mm to 10mm with the L11 being the worst. The periodontist told me not to get braces and to splint it. There is 75 percent bone loss there. It had an absess.

When I went back after the 2000e cleaning, I told him I thought my bite had moved and was suddenly developing lines and a jowl on the side where the tooth needs to be replaced. He said to splint it and shave it but no dentist will shave it.

I went to another dentist who told me to get braces and push the tooth out or leave it. I am worried that the change in my bite is having an impact on my face. I am also curious to know if you think extracting that tooth plus the one I need extracting will have an impact on my health?

How do my teeth look to you from the xray please ?

I can't tell you anything useful from just an OPG film, I can confirm you have some bone loss but I can't tell much else. I'm sorry.
I would not consider braces unless your plaque control is excellent and you don't have any active periodontal disease. Splinting is a last resort treatment normally, it can cause faster deterioration in the other teeth.
