Novocaine Shot location

Well, I was just at the dentist and I have a small crack in my number 5 tooth that needs a filling. I have never had a filling that far up front and am very concerned that the novocaine shot would be in the roof of my mouth and the pain involved.
 
@redhawks2 I had a situation like that with a tiny hole (not a cavity) on the outside of number 4. There was just one novocaine shot required and it was up at the top of my upper jaw bone above the tooth, close to where the inside of my cheek is, and was painless due to the dentist using topical anesthetic first. I would ask for topical anesthetic first if I was having the filling you are.
