I had a root canal done on an upper I tooth last Monday and all in all i think it went pretty well. No pain during process, no real pain after which is a great improvement from the pain I was in before. Endodontist said it went really well too. What I am wondering about is a day after the procedure i started to get tenderness above the tooth almost up at the bottom of my nose area. It does not hurt per se but is uncomfortable if i scrunch my face up the right way and it is also a bit tender if i poke at it. It appears to be more in the area of the Novocain injection and in the soft tissue than in the gum or the tooth itself as both of those feel fine. It also does not appear to be getting any worse but it is hard to tell if it is getting better either. I was also on antibiotics from 4 days before the root canal until yesterday so i think that would cut down on the chance it may be infected.
So my question is is it normal to get some discomfort after a shot in the gum like that> I know i got alot of Novocain as i actually felt some run down my throat when it was being done and i got really numb actually up into my sinus region.
Thanks for any info.
