Part of tooth turning black.

Hello I'm new here, my names Jen. My second premolar on the right was fratured from the loss of a silver filling, it started to turn a dark grayish-brown color where the filling has fallen out. It is quite painful, just touching it get feels like someone is stabbing my gum. I have an extration on the 30th, but I so scared. I can't get IV sedation or heavy oral sedation without being in a hospital. I'm scared I'm going to have a panic attack, or puke.

The black probably means it's pretty much gone and rotting. I know gross right? lol I have two that currently are like that because i had huge fillings and they didnt last long what so ever. I've had three pulled and now they want to save the other three with crowns! But just tell your dentist that you are very nervous and explain how you feel usually they will take everything you say into consideration and proceed in a way thats comfortable for you. I also got nervous and felt like i was going to puke and he got me a puke bucket and even waited over a half hour for me to calm down! Take deep breaths and I would close your eyes so you dont have to see the shots or the pulling or anything like that it will make it a lot easier. You could even ask an assistant to hold your hand. I know that sounds weird but it helps sometimes! Just remember keep breathing! You can do this! Just remember once its done its done! Stay strong! Good luck!

Thanks for the support cinders, well the appointment went well. I had an extraction done, it went pretty well. It took an hour overall, but much of the time was spent getting numb, it hurt a bit when he first started wiggling it with some kind of tool, but he then gave me another shot, it it worked, after that I didn't feel pain, a bit of pressure through. After they took the tooth out, he put in a bone graft, and sewed the it shut with some dissolvable stitches.
