Pretty scared right now..

I know some people are in much worse situations than me however I'm pretty paranoid about this so why not start a thread.

I couple months ago I managed to half rip one of my teeth and it has only came out. The dentist checked my teeth 2 weeks ago and I don't think he noticed it was loose and at the time, I forgot to tell him >.< So now my tooth is fully out but unfortunately I swallowed it.

I looked on the internet and apparently loosing an adult tooth is an emergency so yeah, those articles messed with me a bit. Now I'm left with a hole with a root sticking out.

My dentist has told me before that my teeth are slow and I still have quite alot of baby teeth so I'm hoping the tooth that I ate was a baby one.

But if it isn't - what can I do, getting an implant is expensive asf! Is there any way out?

Hi to the forum.

Did your dentist take any x rays of your mouth. Things happen like this sometimes don't get stressed it isn't the emergency that the site you looked at has made out. The important thing is to go back and see the dentist and let them deal with it.

They may be able to build the tooth back up if it is an adult tooth and save it, you need to keep it clean. Even if you hadn't swallowed the tooth it wouldn't be any good, so don't worry about that. Sometimes if a tooth and the root has come out it is possible to pop back in the site but yours has broken so this couldn't be done.

A root is often easier to extract if that is what is needed so don't worry about that either.

Make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as they can see you and see what the dentist says.

As long as you are not in pain you will be fine
