Private costs for a root canal please

My other half and i have just been told to have root canal at our dentists it would cost us £700! Surely thats too much? When they were Boots Dentists they didnt charge anywhere near that - i think i paid around £300. There is no way i can afford that esp when i have to have a fair few...

How much do you all pay to have a root canal done?

Maybe someone else will have some concrete figures - I just wanted to say that private dental fees can vary widely. On the one hand, just because a dentists price is high doesn't necessarily mean you are being ripped off - you might be getting very high quality dental work. However, another dentist might provide the same high quality work at a substantially lower price.

The costs for a root canal and crown also vary upon
(a) whether it's a front tooth or a back tooth (back teeth have more canals, and therefore are more expensive)
(b) what sort of material is used for the crown (the material can make a big difference in price).

You'd have to know these things in order not to end up comparing apples with oranges ...

I'm in the process of getting a root canal and it's $1200 USD. It will probably be another $500-700 USD for the crown.
