Hello
I am looking for some reassurance and answers please
I haven't been on these forums for a bit.
Fear led me to procrastinate and I kept cancellig appointments.
I have achieved a dental clean, and two fillings though.
One more filling and three extractions (two abscessed molars, and one infected and impacted wisdom tooth) left to do.
I am going to hospital for the extractions but am on a waiting list, so the wheels are set in motion. Prior to the extractions, I have to go for a consultation on the 31st July, to talk about the three teeth. (one a wisdom tooth)
In the meantime, I have had a few occasions where I have been off my food for a few days.
Curiously, I have noticed that, when I am not eating properly, the pain flares up.During these times, I am off my food, I feel too sick to manage anything. Even when my appetite slowly comes back, all i can manage is fruit or raw veg.
Salt swills help, but if any salt gets down my throat it can make me feel sick.
Could anyone tell me, please, why my infection seems to flare up at these times?
Is it dehydration, and if so, would those sachets of dehydration salts help?
Could anyone suggest something stomachable and easy to keep down, so that, during these times, I dont have to worry about getting three agonising toothaches.
Is there a mouthwash I can use to do the job of salt water?
I live alone, and maybe I am reading too much media, but swine flu is now in our small town, so if I catch this, before my extractions, my worst fear is having the infection flare up, while I cannot eat, with no means of getting painkillers etc.
I am sorry to sound neurotic, but am also grateful for this site.
If it wasnt for this site, I would never have made it to the dentists for my fillings and my clean.
thank you
