hi - glad to find you and hopefully get some feedback. This procedure was more than a year ago and I felt it when she hit the jawbone, was jarring and i've read since that when this happens it bends the needle so that when it is pulled back out, it snags the nerve.
I was numb for two days and something just felt wrong. The following week, the pain started. I called and went in and they xrayed, the dentist claimed to see nothing unusual but the tech pointed to something she said it looked like an extra root. I would not allow them to inject again and they to fill the tooth next to it - which made no sense. I have not been back, i would be hysterical if the pain worsened.
SO what I need to find out.. is there something to do about this nerve and the pain.. it had actually seemed to lessen, as previously the pain would return on a regular basis.. then it went many month, maybe even 7 months, then 3 days ago, wham ! and its worse than ever.. it is affecting all my left side sinuses, eyes watering, ear ache, jaw horrid pain and the site where injection went in, is sore. After the initial pain arrived in the injection site, it tends to then go across the gums of my lower left side teeth.
The pain when it recurred in past lasted some days and then suddenly stopped. I have used Aleve with success before, yet not this time.. i use heat, i use ice.. warmed cornmeal even. (yes it helped) Yesterday the whole jaw was stiff and aching.
I also grinding my teeth which certainly isnt helping.
Yes I have a distrust now and fear - wont go back to her.. have no dental insurance where at least that place offered low cost. Am very curious, what sets it off.
thanks for any help on how to get past it and even heal it.
