@traumaanxiety I can’t wait to get mine out, living with the fear of what is happening is probably way worse than the 20 min extraction time & healing ???? I’m going to post a pic of my 2 back left molars that are cracked bad and need extraction… was meant to have them done in November I cancelled it … all has been ok even though I know I need to get them out.., however yesterday I literally knocked on my tooth with my spoon , by accident and today it feels weird like a pressure, wobbly , not in pain, no swelling etc… but of course I’m anxious person and worried something bad is going to happen to me, can someone please help me by looking at the pic. I’m embarrassed.. but this is what I am dealing with. No swelling no pain just a weird pressure type sensation and if I press on the tooth i can notice it and it feels looseish…. Am I going to be okay…..? I’m booking in for extraction in a week, I’m over going through these worries !!!! :(

Hi @Tiger5

Im not a dentist so im sorry I cant tell you whats going on medically but I can say confidently that you are absolutely going to be ok.
You are correct in that the fear is worse than the treatment. Living in fear of flare ups, pain, what might be happening, how serious it is etc etc is not living at all.
I would put money on the fact that youll come out of the dentist after having your treatment and go "that was rubbish but it was in no way as bad as I thought it was going to be"
Your brain is catastrophizing, making you think of every worst case scenario to stop you going, it thinks its keeping you safe because youve taught it that the dentist is unsafe, but its doing the opposite.

Make that appointmet, go through with it. Go scared, so shaking, go crying if you have to. Just go. And when you come out you will be so relieved. You will get your life back without all this worry hanging over you.
