My wife had a RC done about a year ago. She said that she kept feeling the worked on tooth and it was still sensitive. Her dentist said that they would have to do it again. She did. Same problem AND she had to pay AGAIN:mad:. Now, what's the next best solution? Extraction and call it day? BTW, it's a molar. The second to last rear tooth.

Thank you

My advice- Get and post the digital xray
Sometimes on matter what you do it may look good radiographically but fail clinically, however; that is the minority of root canals. Personally I don't charge for redoing my own root canal if there is a failure.

I'll tell my wife to get the digital X-ray.

About paying twice for this RC. Is there a way I can get this reimbursed by the dentist? They insisted that she had to pay, otherwise they wouldn't do it! My wife was stuck. Sue them? I'm still pissed that they charged her TWICE for a RC which should've been done right the first time.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if the original dentist won't re-do their failed root canal for free, it would have been better to get the re-treatment done by a specialist endodontist as their likely success rate would have been much higher.
Your dentist seems to be milking you for money when it is not within his capabilities to fix the tooth. Sometimes you need a microscope to see those canals properly. I feel for your wife.

That is exactly why I don't charge BUT it might have looked fine the first time. I don't know
