Root filling

Hi. Iv had my first appointment with the dentist and was terrified etc but it took 10 minutes which included an xray. Iv been told i need a root filling....never had one and im 63...what are they really like? How long does it really take ( its a front tooth ) Iv googled and scared myself half to death so im asking my fellow anxious patients for some advise please. Thank you

Hi kayduck,

a root filling on a front tooth should be quick as they only have one root and one canal. It should be pretty straight forward and one of the easier teeth to treat. Was there anything that you saw that scared you so much?

Thank you so much for your answer it's really helped. I read it could take two hours to do, there is no way I could do that amount of time.
