ok, a question not about me this time........... my niece is 10 years old and has a small hole in the heart which is healing fine, but her mum ( my sister) worries abour her having to have dental treatment. My niece has probs with plaque accumulating behind her 4 lower front teeth, would having a sealant applied help this in any way? or is the sealant generally just applied to the back teeth? ( my niece does have a good dental regime, brushing and flossing, doesnt drink fizzy drinks etc)

Sealants can be applied anywhere where the dentist feels that they would be beneficial to cover over a cavity prone pit or fissure. The area you describe on the tongue side of the lower incisors isn't one of the places typically where a dentist would tend to place sealants so nopers I don't think it would help.
