On Wednesday, Oct.8,2014 I had two teeth ground down (one on each side on top) to be fitted for my crowns and 4 cavities filled (1 on left and three on right uppers). That night after the novacain wore off I took ibuprofen, warm moist heat, ice, and then Tramadol for the pain. The next morning I could barely open my mouth and the pain is excruciating. My dentist said this was normal and to keep doing the heat, ice, etc. It is now 6 days later and the pain is no better. I had the work done on top but my bottom teeth and jaw hurt as much as the top does. The only good news in this is that I've lost 5 pounds because I'm having trouble eating and being a diabetic I've been drinking Ensure to keep my blood sugar levels up. How long will this last? Should I bother my dentist again?

Hi,
Can you be more specific about the symptoms: I understand you can't open the mouth. Is it because of pain or is it physically impossible? when does hurt exactly (opening, closing the mouth, constantly...)
