On Monday I got my lower wisdom tooth out. It was quite a quick thing cause they just pulled it out the normal way; no stiches nothing. They had to give me quite a bit of local anesthetic though, and infact, I'm not sure if the anesthetic was the reason for this, but that night and the next day, I had fever and ended up throwing up several times. Now, the 3rd day, I am ok. I have noticed that about 3hrs the extratcation, a whitish thing started to form in the whole where the tooth was pulled out. Some said it could be granulation tissue. The strange thing is that it's not always the same amount, apart from moving to another part of the whole. I have brushed my teeth, NOT the whole, gently and I rinse ever so often with warm water and salt, or mouthwash, and it seems to remain as it is for that moment. So I don't think it's trapped food. I avoid eating on that side. So I was wondering, when can I start brushing that area? How long does granulation tissue take? When can I say that I am safe from having a dry socket? I am doing quite well; the pain after the extraction was nearly none. I was feeling a bit achy where they gave me the anesthetic, but every day I'm waking up better. Many thanks.

The white stuff is the graduation tissue and you want it there. You are usually safe from dry socket after 72 hours, so I think it is safe to say that you will be fine now. You haven't had a lot of pain and sound as if you have had a lovely trouble free healing.

I would stop being worried now and just let things take their time now. Good for you for getting this done and well done with the healing and aftercare :jump::jump::jump::jump::jump::jump::jump:
