Splinting

Can anyone help?
My dentist has suggested that I have my top 4 front teeth removed and a bridge put in place. I have had a loose (ish) front tooth for years.
When can splints be used and would this be an option?
I don't want to look stupid and ask him after he has suggested the bridge option but would do anything rather than have a bridge - cost and pain!

why do 4 teeth need to be removed for one loose tooth? I don't think splinting is ever done when it is more than 1 tooth and the tooth it was splinted to needs to be healthy and stable enough to support it.

you NEVER look stupid by asking questions. you have a right to know all of your options and to make informed decisions on your treatment. do not be afraid to ask your dentist.
