*Whew* glad it's over!!! I had all of my upper teeth extracted (9 of them) on Feb 8th and is wondering why in the hell I put myself through such torture ahead of time. I had this done by an oral surgeon (wonderful eye candy....lol) under IV sedation. I was told to take a 10mg Valium 1/2 an hour before my appointment and let me tell you that stuff is great!!!! By the time I got in the chair I was laughing hysterically (still don't know at what) all I remember is the nurse putting the IV into my hand and a glimpse of Mr. eye candy and bam I was out for the count! When I woke up (hubby said it was only like 45 min.) there was absolutely no pain and my beautiful denture was in my mouth. All I could do was grin from ear to ear. Took 2 pain pills one when I got home and one that night (just in case) and never touched another! Tomorrow will be one week since the surgery. I needed a McDonald fix and bought myself a cheese burger and a fish fillet, took the buns off and cut into tiny pieces and was able to chew no problem. It's just kind of hard to bite into anything yet (I forgot what that feels like) but I'm sure it will come in time, oh and I already had 2 adjustements....so after all my blubbering I guess what I really wanted to say is if your really that nervous and uptight about dental work like me....make sure to get the IV Sedation.....it's wonderful stuff!!!!
