Hi,

I am am considering having my teeth whitened by a salon.

They stated that they use a bicarbonate and glycerin solution which is activated by a UV light.

Is this safe?

I have read that most treatments use a Carbonide peroxide; how does this differ from a bicarbonate and glycerin solution please?

Thank you.

Hi WELCOME to the forum :jump::jump::jump:

I am not a dentist so I cannot answer your question but I am sure that if you can be patient just a bit longer someone will be along to help you. Sorry it has taken a few days to get to you but hang on in there. :butterfly:

Hi DJ3,

I believe I'm right in saying that although some beauty salons offer teeth whitening, it is actually illegal if there's no dental professional present, and it may put your oral health at risk. I know you can also buy DIY home teeth whitening kits but these may also carry risks. I would definitely seek the advice of a dental professional if considering such a treatment.
