It's been 5 days since the root canal, and I'm happy to report no tooth pain at all anymore.
However, I do have a weird sensation in my gums over the past 24 hours. The tooth that was done was the second last molar on the upper left. The gum area around the inside of the tooth and up towards the roof of my mouth feels really tender. Not painful, but if I press on the area with my tongue, it feels quite tender.
The reason I'm concerned is that I'm worried about infection. When I called the endo 24 hours after and said I was in pain, he gave me painkillers and antibiotics. I completely forgot to take the antibiotics, and now I'm worried that maybe this soreness is being caused by infection?
As well, when I brushed my teeth with my electric toothbrush and went over that tooth, IT WAS PAINFUL. I guess it's still healing? If so, I'll just be using a regular toothbrush for a while.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
