glad its going ok for you. my kids keep getting me to say biscuits then they fall about laughing saying I sound like vinny the panda when I call them bisquits!!!!!!!! bless em grrrrrrrr

Well it's Day 8, things are not too bad
I do have one very tender area on the outside back gum and two other spots on the roof of my mouth at the back but they don't really hurt until I eat or put pressure on them but I don't need to take anything for it, I can manage to chew soft foods, tinned processed ham, sausage middles, bread that is soaked in gravy or soup although any chewing takes quite a long time if I get hungry I have a bowl of porridge to fill me up, although I do crave savoury and meat, on the whole I feel pretty good my speech is coming on quite well due to loads of talking which I have to do at work and singing in the car or at home I am not playing with the denture so much now in my mouth with my tongue and there are times when I forget about it, they get taken out at night for about 7 hours and still feel a little odd when they go back in for a few minutes, they don't seem to stay put but by the time I have got down stairs they are in situ, I feel a bit naked without them and it feels strange and I find my bottom front hard to clean up and own when there are no top teeth, I will not speak to my hubby without them in as I sound like I'm 90:giggle: I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for the top set I never thought it would be easy but I did expect it to be more difficult. We have a saying over here and a true native will have the outlook 'Traa dy Liooar' which translates as time enough, basically there is no hurry, and I think that's the best way to manage xx

isn't that strange I have exactly the same place where I am tender. I must admit the sore spots on the roof of my mouth are the worst. they are right in line with where the plate ends on the roof of your mouth, I keep using bonjela not sure if it helps but it does say for denture pressure sores so i'll keep going. its better if you put it in the fridge first.
 
Yes I end up with a line across the roof of my mouth but it is where it heads up to the gum that it hurts, I also have some banana Bonjela will put it in the fridge thanks for that :thankyou:
 
I have just the same, like a ridge across the roof of my mouth where the plate ends, my ulcer is right in the middle, its so sore. I tried IGLU its strange stuff but does help. this time tomorrow i'll be trying to cope with a bottom denture as well. hummmmmmm:(

Is it a partial bottom denture? I am getting a partial lower immediate on the 30 th keeping 6 front and only 5 left to remove.

I just found this that i wrote in March:-

"Not long back from what I believed to be an IV assessment but was a referral to the os who had a quick look and asked some questions re my fear and medical history, he agreed on my dentists findings and will pull the teeth now I just need the way it is going to happen there were 3 options we discussed
1: local Anaesthetic
2: IV Sedation
3: General Anaesthetic
Option one he reckons if he said he was doing it that way I would bolt out of the chair and run through the door( don't be daft!! If I knew he wanted to do it that way I wouldn't even turn up!!)"

Look at me now!:giggle:

Me and my funniness are heading up to bed, I have given up on expecting beauty seep to make a blind bit of difference and anyway it can't compete with the lovely smile I give myself on waking from the glass by the side of the bed!!!!! :toofunny::teehee:
No actually the sleep is what makes me funny and I don't keep my toofies in a glass by the bed they live in this

no its a full bottom denture. silly as I've been through it before but I'm so nervous! :cry:
 
Yes think it's only natural to be a bit nervous of treatment and if you are phobic even more so I'm not looking forward to mine but am in a way and the major work will be over, we will come out the other side of it maybe just a bit ruffled but its another part ticked off the list so has to be positive, All the best xx

Day 11 still got my tender places with the upper plate can't pucker up to whistle:whistle: or kiss hubby goodnight and I'm not kissing without my toofies!:yuck: A bit sore where I have been trying to chew but nothing as bad as having toothache so it's a strange positive:hmm:
I decided I could massage my gums a little with the tooth brush just gentle but when I try to do the front it feels like half the bristles have vanished:rofl: I think it's the combination of the multiple sockets across the front and a bit of altered nerves as they reform, but it doesn't half feel weird:rofl::rofl: or maybe it's just me?:confused: Going funny:nahnahna::tease:,

Doing ok with my letters I do lots of practice, do you know the song All I want for Xmas is my two front teeth? I sing that where it says" sister Suzy sitting on a thistle :rofl::rofl: Oh well better go to bed Work tomorrow:brickwall:Hope you are ok Carole xx
 
I am fine thank you :) I am having trouble saying the suzi thing and I have my teeth so big :respect::respect::respect: to you if you can say that one without trouble. It really does test the powers of speech.

I most certainly do know the song, Two front teeth. When my son was about 3 or 4 he came off his bike and I took him to the dentist because he had banged his mouth. The teeth were fine but they said to prevent problems with his adult teeth they should take the top two front ones out, so this is what happened. So he didn't get his adult teeth until he was 7 or 8 and we often sung the song and laughed. You just brought some lovely memories back to me Thank you :jump::jump::jump: :butterfly:
 
I have a very slight lisp but apparently hardly noticeable although it does sound a lot more lispy to me but aren't you your own worse critic! Glad that song brought back memories for you, I have been singing what I can remember may have to google the lyrics:giggle:
at language class tonight so more speaking I talk or sing all morning so it's been great for relearning my speech,
glad you are ok, how is the rogue tooth? Lovely day today although breezy, the cat has sat on my chest this is bad cause unless I move the cat I will fall asleep:tired:
