Just had my second set of impressions done, nothing scary or hideous, lots of putting the wax model things in place and lots of biting down and measuring to make sure they came together at the right place, that they were deep enough so I wasn't over or under placing my jaw together, measuring from my nose to my chin a few times and checking the colour matched ok with my remaining teeth. And another go with the gloopy gunk for impressions Along with some chatting :giggle: There has to be chatting:giggle:
Back again on Feb 14 th for a try of the dentures before they make them up for me on the 3 rd march. All going well xx

Just spent some time reading through your whole Journal entry here, Deejay. I just started my treatment today (had two extractions). This has really inspired me. Thanks for sharing. I think I will Journal my experience, too. It will be good for me I think.

Poor you going through all that!!!!!:giggle:
Thank you for saying it has brought you some inspiration, it one or two people find the courage to go through their treatment after seeing it really wasn't too bad then I am very happy:jump:
Please write you story because the more journals people can read the more insight they can get and the treatment in different places varies so much. And I would like to read about your journey so far and what you have ahead of you.
it helps to write it down and good to look back on too, you will get some extra support too.
please feel free to ask any questions and to private message me if you prefer well done for making a start and on your extractions hope you are feeling ok?
:clover::clover::clover: Good luck

Hi I am glad it went well, it sounds like you got in plenty of chatting as usual. I also go back to the dentist on the 14th feb, what a day. Guess we know what we are doing on valentines day huh:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Good luck :clover::clover::clover::clover::clover:

The weather is on the tv as I type this and they are showing snow :plays::plays::plays::plays::plays::snow::snow::snow:I am still waiting :butterfly:

Hi Deejay,
Lovely of you to reply :)
I felt sore and a little throbby after the extractions - but I expected no less, and much worse. So I was pleasantly surprised. 3 days later, today, I feel fantastic. So that first experience has really helped me feel more positive about the next few visits.
I may take you up on the offer of asking questions.
Definitely going to journal, like you said, it'll be something to look back on.
Have a great weekend.

So pleased to hear that you have gotten through your extractions once you get past day 3 you are generally back to normal, I even found that after my 6 and a half out and went back to work after a few days, I have been reading back through some of mine and I am amazed at myself really so it is good to write what happened as soon as you feel up to it and in the blurr it's easy to forget down the line as you sort of keep moving on as there is always another step to worry about, and it also helps others, anytime you want just message me on this link or private message, when is your next appointment?:)

Had my dentist appointment today ( brought my dentist and chair assistant some mini love heart sweets ) had a try of my denture, a wax model with the teeth in it, they needed a little trimming and she wasn't happy with the colour, gave me a mirror to see for myself and re selected the colour , I may not be able to get the partial done clip free but I don't really mind as I know she wants to get them just right for me. This has put things back by 2 weeks but what's a few more weeks when you are getting something done custom and your dentist is a perfectionist and some people slam the NHS. !!! Fantastic service.

Once again I am glad it went well for you. Another step nearer for you. I also went for my appointment and my dentist found a problem when doing the prep so she took an x ray and has put a temp cover over the tooth for now. So I also get an extra app. I find out on the 26th Feb what the problem is.

This tooth is so dam troublesome, but both the dentist and I are fighting back still. Cross everything for me that I don't end up losing this tooth. I am going to update my thread now with the in's and outs.

When do you go back.

Good luck with your next app :fingerscrossed::whirl::whirl::whirl::whirl::whirl::yay::butterfly:

Your dentist sounds amazing, Deejay! So glad all is going well for you. I have my first impressions tomorrow. Your experience is really motivating and keeps me inspired for my own journey.

You keep fighting Carole I don't think you will give up anyway , not yet you've come too far:)
oh and I got to drive up over our mountain road in the falling snow:snow:It didn't stick though
Yorkie, I wrote on your thread just before to wish you well for tomorrow and will look out for your posting, yes my dentist is fantastic if only I could keep her! :(
Lets just hope these new dentures I get are as comfy as the ones I have now have become.:)

Our weather people keep mentioning the S word but still nothing :(:(:(

I am bigger than my tooth and I will win this war, I have won the battles so far even though it has had me on my knees a few times, but I have it on the ropes now :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I hope your new teeth are better than the ones you have now.

I am watching and waiting :snow::snow::snow:then I will be outside playing :plays::plays::plays::snowman::butterfly::butterfly::butterfly:

They are staying rather quiet re the weekend:hmm: Even on country file they usually give the whole week then an outlook they stopped at Friday ?? Or am I just reading too much into it???
yes I believe you can beat this tooth into submission:superman:
If I here of any snow heading our way from America I will let you know,
I'm looking forward to my new teeth bit nervous that they will lie quiet and not give too many problems they are different as in mine now have 2 big molars 2 pre molars a canine then one then the big front one ( on each side) the next one has less teeth 2 big molars but not sure what else but think the teeth are a little bigger but as they were only stuck into the wax I couldn't really get to have a good nosey. :)
:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::snow::plays:Fingers crossed for teeth it's and snowflakes I want the island to come to a standstill, doesn't take much , I can light the fire, turn on the local radio tune into the local police media page and listen to the chaos, Or is that just wicked:evil:??
D.J:whirl:

No not wicked  sounds like my idea of a good time, sad as it may seem to some :rofl::rofl: :butterfly:

Good luck for your next appointment, and smile :giggle::giggle::giggle::grin::grin::grin:

Snow down graded to rain again!!!!!!!!!
:-X

You know what is going to happen don't you, we will get over all this rain and wind stuff then we will get the sun and BAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come April May and then it will snow :snow::snow::snow::butterfly:

I remember some years ago it was a lovely summer day and very warm all the kids were playing out and had pools out too and we got snow. It settled as well but it wasn't cold, it was really weird the sun was still out and it snowed quite heavily. :dunno:

We'll we always get a cold spell then I believe, and I am expecting it because it always happens when we have our sheds bursting with lambs and need some good weather to last a few days to get the lambs used to being out meanwhile the weather is grotty so we can't then we take a chance put them out and it snows!!!!!!
i need to see some snow:bounces:I want snow:bounces:I want snow:bounces:I want snow:bounces: :giggle:

Hello peoples:)
Fastest dental appointment ever!
Went in to check the changes to my set up of my more permanent dentures all looked good so that was that! They now go to be made up and I get them on the 4th April wasn't quite expecting that long a wait as they are due back on the 18th March but it just shows how good a dentist she is and how much in demand when it takes that long to get into see her. Xx
D.J. " A bad day with good teeth is better than a good day with bad teeth " :whirl:

Glad to hear your appointment was so quick and easy today. Those new ones will be worth the extra wait.

A step closer to the finish line!!!! :jump:

Thanks Yorkie:hug:
It's getting quite sad now only one or two more appointments with these ladies then back to the male dentist I don't really like, ( false sympathy ) but hey oh can't be helped
how are you doing?
